Born in Knoxville, TN on May 3, 1949, Libby was the daughter of Everett D. and Betty Jo Timmons, both of whom preceded her in death. Libby was of the Christian faith having been a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Richmond, KY.

Born in Irvine, June 15, 1930, he was the son of the late Ed and Joanna Strong. He graduated from Irvine High in 1948, leading them to the Sweet Sixteen tournament.
