Dorothy Louise Kirkpatrick “Dot” was born on August 23, 1937 and died on June 27, 2024 at age 86.

Dot is survived by her long time, loyal and dedicated friend of more than 60 years, Nancy Sue Daniel of Richmond, Kentucky. She is also survived by her niece Lenee Gower (Bruce), niece Amber Hutto (Mark), and nephew, Joseph Kirkpatrick (Angela), as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Dot completed her masters at the University of Tennessee and her doctor’s level degree at the University of Kentucky. She found her professional home at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) teaching and coaching for almost 40 years. Throughout her life Dot followed EKU sports and actively supported all teams.

Dot was known for her creative painting of walking sticks that depicted the lives and interest of the new owner. She created gourd art and won many blue ribbons at the Madison County Fair and other competitions over the years.
