Steven Wesley Frazier

Steven Wesley Frazier, 48, husband of Deanna Sizemore Frazier, died on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Baptist Health-Richmond.
In a message to the EKU community, Interim President David McFaddin said, "It is with a heavy heart that I report Steven Frazier, a treasured employee and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 31. Steven was Project Manager M.E.P. of Capital Construction at EKU and was a master plumber with his family at James Anderson & Son. He served as a deacon at Unity Baptist Church in Richmond and he loved spending time with his family and friends. Steven was an amazing man. His unwavering faith and love for family and friends is a legacy we should all strive to honor."
Friends, colleagues and political leaders took to social media on Friday and Saturday to express their condolences to the Frazier family.
“Thinking of my colleague and friend, Deanna Frazier, State Representative. Her husband passed away yesterday. We are keeping her and her family in our thoughts and prayers,” Sen. Jared Carpenter (R-Berea), who represents the 34th District including Madison and Rockcastle Counties, and the southern portion of Fayette County, posted on Facebook Saturday.
Chairman of the Republican Party of Kentucky, Mac Brown, released a statement on social media saying, “We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Steven Frazier. Our hearts are with Deanna and her family. We ask everyone to join us in lifting the Frazier family up in prayer through this difficult time.”
Survivors include his wife, Deanna Sizemore Frazier; two sons, Jacob Wesley Frazier and John William Frazier both of Richmond; parents, Wesley Douglas and Judy Ann Winkler Frazier of Richmond; one sister, Nikki Lecoe Frazier Cooper (Freddie) of Berea.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Unity Baptist Church in Richmond with Dennis Brewer, Kenny Davis and Scott Guiley officiating the services.
Donnie Weitkamp, Denny Humphrey, Gary Kelly, Ronnie Bogie Charles Long and Ryan Wilson served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were his fellow Madison Central Baseball team members.
