Sanford Lainhart, Jr.

Sanford Lainhart, Jr., 82, of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Baptist Health-Richmond.

Sanford was born on July 19, 1938, in Louisville and was the son of the late Sanford Lainhart, Sr. and Donie Willis Lainhart. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired HVAC employee, having worked at Meadow Gold Ice Cream and Eastern Kentucky University. He retired from EKU Facilities in June 2013.

Survivors include: his wife, Wilma Culton Lainhart; one son, David Lainhart (Connie), of Berea; one daughter, Sandra Rogers, of Richmond; one brother, Jerry Lainhart, of Richmond; one sister, Ethel Craine, of Ohio; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Greg King officiating. Burial followed at Madison County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Josh Witt, Brian Lainhart, Keith Lainhart, Zackary Rogers, Daniel Rogers, Tyler Smyth, and Mickey Smyth.
