Mrs. Orlena Isaacs Barnes

October 23, 1925 - May 30, 2020

Mrs. Orlena Isaacs Barnes, 94, passed away early Saturday morning, May 30, 2020. 

Mrs. Barnes was born in Jackson County, Ky. on October 23, 1925, the daughter of the late James Effort and Lillie Rose Isaacs. She was a retired night hostess at Eastern Kentucky University and was a member of The Lexington Road Church of God. Her passions in life were God, her church and her family.

Survivors include one son: James E. Barnes Jr. (Jan); one daughter: Trina Brumfield; a granddaughter: Paula Chrisman Fox (James) as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: James E. Barnes and Jim Hayes, two grandsons: David and Randy Abney; two brothers: Ohmer Isaacs (Thelma) and Donald Isaacs (Betty) and one sister: Edna Young (Charles).

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at The Lexington Road Church of God with Rev. David Caldwell and Rev. Harry Revel officiating. This service may be viewed via Life-Stream. Following the service Mrs. Barnes will be laid to rest at Madison Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are: Skip Daugherty, Jerry Gilbert, David Caldwell, Jesse Ward, Mike Rice and Kenny Hayes.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Betty Porter, Patty Proctor, Carolyn Whitaker, Harry Revel, Dr. Hanan Budeiri and the staff of Kenwood Nursing and Rehab.
