Martin T. Jones

July 4, 1926 - April 18, 2021

Mr. Martin T. Jones, 94, of Waco, Kentucky, the widower of Willie Mae Richardson Jones, passed away early Sunday morning, April 19, 2021, at his home.

Martin was born on July 4, 1926, in Madison County, to the late Webb and Susie Todd Jones. Martin was the seventh son of a seventh son. He was a retired security officer at Eastern Kentucky University and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a Kentucky Colonel and was an avid sportsman and coon hunter.

Survivors include three sons: Marty Jones (Shelia), Tommy Jones (Donna) and Vardy “Britches” Jones; three daughters: Kathy Jones, Ann Lutes (Mickey) and Stella “Tadpole” Jones; six grandchildren: Kellie Clements (Earl), Shawn Jones, Taylor Jones (Brooke), Amanda Mullikin (David), Rebekah Allen (Seth) and Zachary Jones (Rachael); nine great-grandchildren: Caleb Smith, Robert Clements, Addison Clements, Oaklyn Jones, Aaron Jones, Clay Mullikin, Katie Mullikin, Laura Allen and Kyle Jones as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers: Alex Jones, Johnny Jones, Ermine Jones, Webb Jones Jr., Preston Jones and Vardy Jones and two sisters: Anna Lee Dunaway and Lou Stone.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at The Waco Baptist Church with Rev. Bradley Johns and Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones-Todd-Rhodus Family Cemetery at Bybee, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the church. Face coverings and social distancing practices will be observed.

Pallbearers are: Mickey Lutes, Shawn Jones, Taylor Jones, Seth Allen, David Mullikin and Earl Clements.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Caleb Smith, Robert Clements, Clay Mullikin, Toby Honaker and Pete Cain.
