Marcia Watkins Evans

Marcia Watkins Evans, age 42, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020 at her residence.

Marcia was a senior lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences. She was a graduate of Berea College (B.S.) and EKU (M.S.) and had begun a Ph.D. program in microbiology at the University of Kentucky this fall. She taught clinical microbiology and human anatomy & physiology at EKU beginning in 2008. Marcia was an incredibly positive and forward-looking person, even in the face of multiple bouts of cancer. She was a talented teacher who helped many appreciative students prepare for careers in the health sciences.

 
Born in Jamaica, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Barbara Watkins.  Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, Dwayne Evans; three sons: Ethan Evans, Tristian Evans and Payton Evans; two daughters: Liz Evans and Lexi Evans; and two sisters: Barbara Campbell and Beth Watkins.
