Virginia Nill Jinks

Virginia Nill Jinks received her master of arts in education at EKU in 1965. She proceeded as professor of dance for 28 years, teaching classes on both the bachelor's and master's levels, before retiring in 1989. Virginia was well known throughout Kentucky for her passion and promotion of dance. Virginia’s major contributions were in the sponsorship and support of dance theater and performance dance groups. She wrote news articles and promoted dance opportunities statewide and was active at the national level as a member of the Delegate Assembly for the National Dance Association and as member of the American Dance Guild. 

Her legacy is continued through the countless dance students and individuals she inspired throughout her lifetime. Virginia passed away peacefully on Aug. 23, 2022, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, in her oceanfront home.
