Peggy Jo Higdon Ochs, 73, passed away on May 9, 2023. She was born on May 13, 1949 in Saint Joseph, Missouri, to Delmas Higdon Jr. and Winifred Burton Higdon, both of whom preceded her in death. Peggy was a caring, loving, and selfless mother, grandma, sister, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at social events and dining out. She was an avid fan of her children and grandchildren. For years, Peggy enjoyed attending school activities and sporting events of her sons, Brian and Kevin. Later in life, she did much the same for her grandsons, Logan, Braden, and Tyler. She was always there to support her family. Peggy was part of a wonderful family. She was the oldest of eight siblings, six sisters, and one brother. All the times she spent with them were filled with many laughs, some tears, and lots of joy.

Peggy retired from Eastern Kentucky University after nearly 23 years of working in the Bookstore Administration where she was a loyal and dedicated employee.

She is survived by two sons, Brian Ochs of Nashville, Tennessee and Kevin Ochs (Jennifer) of Richmond, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Logan Ochs, Braden Ochs, and Tyler Ochs; one brother, Gregg Higdon (Renee); six sisters, Susan Fry (Dave), Diane Henderson, Debby Scroggins (Dwight), Janet Hatten (Greg), Kim Marquis (Paul), and Kelly Leonard (Tom); and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home in Richmond, Kentucky, on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Following the visitation, Peggy will be returned home to Missouri where a graveside service will be held. She will be reunited with and buried alongside her parents.
