Elizabeth Mae Shelton Grubbs, age 84, wife of Billy Addison Grubbs of Richmond, Ky., passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Elizabeth was born June 11, 1937, in Lawrenceburg to the late James Hubert Shelton and Sylvia Pauline Phillips Shelton.

Elizabeth attended Campbellsville College, and started her career as a secretary with the Kentucky State Government in the Kentucky Educational Department. From there she worked for the Occupational Therapy Department at Eastern Kentucky University as a secretary. Elizabeth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond, and as a child she attended Sand Spring Baptist Church. There she gave her life to Christ and was baptized. Elizabeth was an amazing homemaker. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Elizabeth read her bible, devotionals, and had hourly prayer time daily. She enjoyed all family holidays, cookies & milk with grandkids, fights over muffin batter, the race for the "darlings" (stuffed animals), and traveling. The grandkids came up with the name Nene which she acknowledged with pride.

Including her husband Billy, Elizabeth is survived by two children, Kimberly (Kim) Dawn Raisner of Richmond, Kelli Elizabeth Mohr (J.J.) of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann, Jamie Dennis, Christine Lamb (John), Mark Raisner, David Addison Raisner, Kristina Elizabeth Acker (Mikel), Brandon Reed (Bailey), Sarah Reed, Jamie Espenlaub (Nathan) & Jessica Zuber (Jordan); great grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathon, Corey Jo, Jack, Evan, Bayla, Wren, Kayden, Onyx, Knox, Brix, Karson, Ethan, Bracie, & Baylor (Quinny); sisters, Mary Frances Shelton Ratchford (Charles Ratchford - deceased), New Albany, Ind. & Martha Ann Shelton Proctor, Lawrenceburg Ky. a brother, Donnie Ray Shelton (Dianne) of Louisville Ky.

Including her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Jo Dennis; a granddaughter, Angela Nichole Kelley; a brother, James Robert "Bobby" Shelton; and a son-in-law, Wayne Gilbert Raisner.

At the end of each day, Elizabeth and Billy never forgot to say, "Goodnight, I love you."
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2022, at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg, Ky, with Donnie Ray Shelton, her brother, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. till time of service on Monday.

Casket bearers will be David Raisner, Brandon Reed, J.J. Mohr, Mikel Acker, Kristina Acker and Sarah Reed. Honorary bearers will be Jamie Dennis, Donnie Ray Shelton, Mark Raisner, and Bartley Ray Shelton.
