Dr. Donald Shadoan

Dr. Donald Shadoan, 89, husband of Gloria Jasper Shadoan, died Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in Huntsville, Alabama.

Born May 2, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Oran Shadoan and Laura Dick Shadoan. Dr. Shadoan was a professor at Eastern Kentucky University where he served as the chairman of the Economics Department.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Richmond, Kentucky, and he attended the Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison, Alabama.  He served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jasper Shadoan; one son, Mike Shadoan (Elaine Joseph) of Madison, Alabama; four grandchildren, Zachary Nichols, Emily Shadoan, Sydnee Shadoan and Laura Shadoan.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Oran Shadoan and Laura Dick Shadoan; and one daughter, Donna Gail Shadoan Rogers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Jill Ruhl officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
