Dana Wylie Kearns, 70, passed away October 17, 2021. She died just six days after her husband Gary Mitchell Kearns, whom she married on March 12, 1970, passed away. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage together before his passing. The daughter of Harvey and Wynne Bates Wylie, Kearns was born in Los Angeles on October 6, 1951. She was a kind, polite and quiet lady who was very loved by all who knew her.

Beginning in 1986, Kearns worked in the Office of the Dean in four separate colleges namely, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Science, and College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. She was a very professional, dedicated, loyal, and diligent employee. In each office, she served with distinction, often solving problems for chairs, faculty, staff, and students without the need to refer them to someone else, and served as a mentor to new employees.

Survived by their daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Chris Graham of Richmond; one sister: Jamie Wylie; three grandchildren: Emily (& Case) Covington, Cameron Graham and Chad Moore, her great grandchild: Wrenley Covington and her sister-in-law: Sally Ann Rawlins.

A Joint Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Union City Baptist Church, 2502 Doylesville Rd, Richmond, with Rev. David King officiating.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.

The family requests the wearing of masks for those in attendance.
